Water Supply Capacity Analysis

Ciorba Group was selected by the Village of Morton Grove to provide an analysis focused on specific water system supply scenarios related to the change in supply source from the City of Chicago to the City of Evanston. Based on coordination with the Village, the study assumed that the Village’s north and south pump station reservoirs would receive supply flows at 20 psi with Evanston as the source compared to the existing 45 psi with Chicago supply. Historically, the Village has had difficulty keeping the North Pump Station full when pressures from the City of Chicago dropped to 35 psi. The Village of Morton Grove requested Ciorba Group analyze the impacts of the lower source pressure, particularly at the North Pump Station where the smaller storage volume is not conducive to recovery. Impact to the entire system (North and South) was reviewed utilizing the existing WaterCad Model and other approaches. The findings were summarized in a project report
