Ciorba Group is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with experience in the design of Lighting, Electrical, Traffic Signal and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) improvements. Projects will consist of the study and design of roadway and site lighting, traffic signals for State and municipal clients, and ITS improvements for public agencies. Other work will involve the design of pump station electrical systems, generator sizing and site electrical improvements. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates as well as preliminary studies
  • Supervising other staff on larger projects
  • Coordination with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Mentoring junior staff.
  • Review and check engineering work completed by others
  • Maintain positive client relationships
  • Manage schedules and deadlines on multiple projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • 4-8 years of experience
  • Illinois PE or the ability to obtain within 24 months
  • Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
  • MicroStation proficiency
  • Experience on IDOT and Illinois Tollway projects preferred, CDOT and INDOT experience a plus
