Responsibilities

Ciorba Group is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer with the following responsibilities:

Primary focus will be on:

  • Water distribution system analysis and water main design;
  • Wastewater collection system analysis and sanitary sewer design;
  • Sanitary and stormwater lift station analysis and design;
  • The candidate will serve as the technical lead on projects, reporting to the Project Manager, and will manage other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plans but may also complete certain tasks independently;
  • Design tasks include calculations/models, plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks;
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects;
  • Review and check engineering work completed by others;
  • Maintain positive client and vendor relationships;
  • Mentor staff engineers;
  • Will report to our Vice-President of Water Resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
  • 10-12 years of water resources experience, including the activities described above;
  • Illinois Professional Engineer (PE);
  • Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multidisciplinary projects;
  • Microstation proficiency; AutoCad experience a plus;
  • Experience with water distribution system and wastewater collection system analysis and design;
  • Experience with lift station design;
  • Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, and other hydraulic models.

    ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

    Responsibilities

    Ciorba Group is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with experience in the design of Lighting, Electrical, Traffic Signal and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) improvements. Projects will consist of the study and design of roadway and site lighting, traffic signals for State and municipal clients, and ITS improvements for public agencies. Other work will involve the design of pump station electrical systems, generator sizing and site electrical improvements. Responsibilities will include:

    • Preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates as well as preliminary studies
    • Supervising other staff on larger projects
    • Coordination with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
    • Mentoring junior staff.
    • Review and check engineering work completed by others
    • Maintain positive client relationships
    • Manage schedules and deadlines on multiple projects

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
    • 6-12 years of experience
    • Illinois PE or the ability to obtain within 24 months
    • Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
    • MicroStation proficiency
    • Experience on IDOT and Illinois Tollway projects preferred, CDOT and INDOT experience a plus

      • Maintaining positive client relationships

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
      • 8-12 years of roadway design experience
      • Illinois PE; Indiana and Michigan PE a plus
      • Strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
      • MicroStation, GEOPAK and OpenRoads proficiency
      • Experience on Illinois DOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects
      • Experience on CDOT or other Illinois Local Agency projects a plus
      • Experience on Indiana and/or Michigan DOT projects a plus

        PROJECT MANAGER - INDIANAPOLIS OFFICE LEAD

        Ciorba Group is an established multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm with a focus on transportation projects. We have offices in Chicago, Peoria, and Northern Indiana. We have been engaged in work in Indiana and with various INDOT Districts and the Central Office since 2016. We are currently looking to establish an office in Indianapolis to better manage our Indiana operations and support our growth in the State and in the Indianapolis Metro area.

        Responsibilities

        We are looking for a Project Manager who can lead and help us develop our Indianapolis office. The selected candidate will supervise staff working on preliminary and design engineering services on our current INDOT projects as well as with local agencies, and private clients throughout Indiana. With the support of our Management Team, the Project Manager will also assist in continuing to develop new clients and preparing proposals for potential new projects.

        Besides technical abilities, the individual chosen for this position must have strong leadership qualities, good written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.

        Required Qualifications

        • Bachelor of Science or degree in Civil Engineering, Master a plus.
        • Indiana Professional Engineer license.
        • 12 – 18 years of experience working on INDOT, and Indiana LPAs transportation projects.
        • Ability to supervise, direct and mentor engineers.
        • Experience with the City of Indianapolis is a plus.
