  • Develop work plan to maintain project schedules and budgets

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering

  • MicroStation and Geopak proficiency
  • Experience on Illinois DOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects
  • Experience on CDOT, County and Municipal projects a plus

Ciorba Group is seeking an exceptional Roadway Project Manager for our Michigan City, Indiana office. The selected candidate will supervise our preliminary/design engineering services on all Ciorba transportation projects for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) as well as counties, municipalities, other government agencies, and private clients throughout northern Indiana. The Project Manager will also assist in continuing to develop new clients and preparing proposals for potential projects.

Besides technical abilities, the individual chosen for this position must have strong leadership qualities, good written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Indiana Professional Engineer license, PTOE a plus.
  • 12 to 18 years of experience working on INDOT, county, and municipal transportation projects;
  • Knowledge and use of Microstation and InRoads/GeoPak.

Ciorba Group is looking to add talented staff to the Structures Group. The selected candidate will work with Ciorba’s award winning Structures Group on a variety of new and rehabilitated typical and complex structures for clients such as IDOT, INDOT, Illinois Tollway, and local municipalities. The Senior Strucctural Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Perform preliminary and final design for steel and concrete highway and pedestrian bridges design, layout and detailing, including preparation of plans, calculations, and construction specifications.
  • Supervision of engineer and CADD work of other team member and coordination of project activities with other disciplines.
  • Complete projects and tasks meeting quality standards, budget and program expectations through proactive project monitoring and control mechanisms are developed and administered.
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Coordination of bridge inspections and report preparation.

Coordination with client on projects and tasks and development of good working relationships with technical staff on the client side

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5-10 years of structural design experience
  • Illinois SE and PE
  • Good technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • MicroStation proficiency
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software
  • GeoPak experience a plus
  • Experience preparing plans for Illinois DOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects and understanding of AASHTO bridge design Standards.
  • Finite Element Modeling and complex structural design a plus
  • Bridge inspection experience, including 80 hour NHI inspection course, preferred but not required
