Responsibilities

Ciorba Group is seeking a Roadway Project Manager with the following responsibilities:

  • Supervising plan, specification and cost estimate preparation for roadway improvement projects
  • The candidate will supervise other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plans
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Review and checking of engineering work completed by others
  • Maintaining positive client relationships
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10-15 years of roadway design experience
  • Illinois PE
  • Strong technical skills, self-starter, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
  • MicroStation and Geopak proficiency
  • Experience on Illinois DOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects
  • Experience on CDOT, County and Municipal projects a plus

Responsibilities

Ciorba Group is looking to add talented staff to our growing Structural Group. The selected candidate will work as a Technical Manager-Structures with Ciorba’s award winning structural team on a variety of typical and complex structures for Department of Transportations, Tollway Authorities, Local Agencies and Contractors in Illinois and in the Midwest

The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serve in a lead technical role on bridge design projects and perform technical oversight on the design for all structural aspects of transportation projects, including steel and concrete highway and pedestrian bridges design, layout and detailing.
  • Supervise engineering and CADD work of team members and coordinate project activities with other disciplines for preparation of reports, contract plans, structural and quantity calculations, and construction specifications
  • Train and mentor junior engineers on design and other engineering tasks and company guidelines/policies.
  • Complete projects and tasks meeting company quality standards, budget and schedule expectations through proactive project management and monitoring.
  • Coordinate directly with clients on projects and tasks, and develop good professional working relationships with staff on the client side.
  • Responsible for driving client satisfaction for all projects within the division regarding quality responsiveness and integrity.
  • Work with Group Vice Presidents and Executive Management Team to help defining annual business development, revenue and technical growth goals for the Structural Group.
  • Assist in planning, developing and implementing direction to meet or exceed company goals on budgets, billability, schedules, quality standards, and profit margins, while working in conjunction with the Vice President of Structures and other Groups, Principals and Financial staff.
  • Assist in business development, identifying project leads, proposal preparation for project pursuits to win work, providing technical expertise while working in conjunction with the Vice President of Structures and other Groups, Principals and Marketing staff.
  • Network with bridge and transportation engineers through active participation in client and professional association events.

Minimum Requirements

We believe that to efficiently manage project technical and financial aspects, human and other company resources the selected candidate will have to possess the following qualifications.

  • Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of structural design experience
  • Illinois SE and PE, PE in other states
  • Good technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software
  • Experience preparing plans for Illinois, Indiana DOT and Illinois Tollway projects and understanding of AASHTO bridge design Standards.
  • Complex and major river bridge design experience a plus
  • Bridge inspection experience, including 80-hour NHI inspection course, preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and 3D CADD preferred

Ciorba Group is seeking an exceptional Roadway Project Manager for our Michigan City, Indiana office. The selected candidate will supervise our preliminary/design engineering services on all Ciorba transportation projects for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) as well as counties, municipalities, other government agencies, and private clients throughout northern Indiana. The Project Manager will also assist in continuing to develop new clients and preparing proposals for potential projects.

Besides technical abilities, the individual chosen for this position must have strong leadership qualities, good written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Indiana Professional Engineer license, PTOE a plus.
  • 12 to 18 years of experience working on INDOT, county, and municipal transportation projects;
  • Knowledge and use of Microstation and InRoads/GeoPak.

Ciorba Group is seeking an entry level Engineering Technician to perform the following activities:

  • CAD plan preparation of roadway, structural, and public utility infrastructure improvements;
  • Perform construction observation of public infrastructure improvements;
  • Assist in performing topographic surveys.

This is a position where a person can grow into performing more advanced engineering services. Training opportunities will be available to assist in developing new skills. Ciorba is looking for a person who is excited about meeting new challenges and expanding their capabilities.
