Ciorba Group conducted a drainage study on 1st Avenue to mitigate the flooding on the street as well as adjacent property entrances. The total study area is about one mile along 1st Avenue with approximately 200 acres tributary area. The scope of services includes investigation of the street flooding; coordinating with property owners along the street; such as Loyola Medical Center and Cook County Forest Preserve, to collect flooding information; developing the existing condition XPSWMM unsteady flow model and calibrating it with real rainfall data; providing concept alternate designs to control the street flooding as well as cooperating with Loyola Medical Campus H&H study; preparing preliminary design and cost estimates for each alternate; providing plans, hydrological and hydraulic analysis, and preliminary design reports.
