Ciorba Group provided preliminary and final design engineering for the $72 million reconstruction and lane addition for 4.5 miles of the north Tri-State from Mill Creek to Russell Road. The project involved the complete removal and replacement of the existing pavement, rehabilitation of five bridges, barrier warrant analyses, analysis of ditch capacity and culvert sizes, replacement of the drainage system and median barrier wall. One of the mainline bridges, I-94 over US 41, is a three-span curved steel plate girder bridge 380 feet long, which was widened and received a new deck. The other two mainline bridges, I-94 over old US 41, are three-span Precast Prestressed Concrete bridges on a curved alignment.
