The Roselle Road multi-use path and signature pedestrian bridge provides much needed pedestrian accessibility on a north-south corridor through a highly urban area at the north end of the Village of Schaumburg into the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve. This complex bridge was ultimately designed with the user in mind as the winding horizontal alignment, large outlook, aesthetic treatments throughout, and touchdown through the tree tops provide pedestrians and bicyclists an experience that mimics a more rural and relaxed setting. The design of the bridge required a slender overall section which proved challenging given the complex geometry and limited constructability access.
