Duane O'Laughlin Presents Pedestrian Bridge Options to Highland Park Officials

Bridge decisions that shape community connectivity and safety matter; and Highland Park is at a pivotal crossroads.

Our own Duane O’Laughlin, COO at Ciorba Group, recently presented two thoughtful options to the Highland Park City Council for the U.S. Route 41 pedestrian bridge between Old Skokie Road and Fredrickson Place:

  • A $2.4M rehabilitation that extends service life by ~ 24 years, and
  • A $10M+ full reconstruction that would deliver ADA-compliant access, support bicycles, and serve the community for decades to come.

The discussion highlights key priorities in sustainable infrastructure planning, from safety and accessibility to funding strategy and long-term value.

Take a closer look at the details and community implications here.

At Ciorba Group, we’re proud to collaborate with communities as they plan infrastructure that enhances mobility and quality of life.
