Transforming I-64: A Major Design-Build Win for Improve 64
Exciting news! The William Charles Construction / Ciorba Group team has been awarded the Improve 64 Design-Build project by INDOT Seymour District.
This transformative infrastructure project will reduce congestion and improve safety along I-64 in Floyd County, Indiana, close to the border with Kentucky. The project includes:
- Added travel lanes in each direction.
- Full reconfiguration of the I-64/I-265 interchange.
- Bridge replacement and rehabilitation for the entire project
- Enhanced pavement throughout the corridor
- Drainage improvements
- Lighting, ITS and sign modernization
- New retaining walls and noise abatement walls
Construction activities will begin in early 2026 and completion is expected by late 2029.
We’re honored to contribute our expertise by leading the design for this critical INDOT project that will enhance mobility and safety for the communities along this vital corridor.
