SERVICES & PROJECTS > TRANSPORTATION > FEDERAL AID ROADWAYS

Federal aid is available for improvements of arterial and collector streets that meet the requirements of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the federal funds are distributed through the locally authorized planning organizations.

Ciorba Group can perform the preliminary engineering studies (Phase I) required to establish the new roadway geometrics, identify environmental concerns, estimate construction costs, and evaluate safety and drainage issues as well as other miscellaneous items.

We summarize our studies in a Project Development Report (PDR) and submit the PDR to both IDOT and FHWA for approval. Once the PDR is approved, we can prepare the Phase II design plans, specifications, and final cost estimates for bidding. We prepare all studies, reports, plans, and specifications in accordance with IDOT and FHWA requirements.
