Skokie Swift at Dempster StreetTransportation Center Improvements

Ciorba Group providing preliminary engineering, final design, and construction engineering services associated with the reconstruction of the existing Skokie Swift commuter parking lot located on Dempster Street. The commuter lot serves patrons of the Skokie Swift rapid transit line as well as a bus depot. The depot accommodates PACE, CTA and private bus lines and a taxi service. The project was funded by a grant administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Public Transportation. The parking lot was reconfigured to improve circulation flow and reduce conflicting vehicle movements. The reconfiguration required relocating the existing depot building. Due to its historical significance, the building was relocated approximately 200 feet to the east but still within the commuter parking lot.
