Brett Sauter, a member of our structural staff, received his Illinois Professional Engineers license on January 3, 2008. Brett has been with Ciorba Group since February, 2004. He is a May, 2001 graduate of Valparaiso University and also received his Masters of Science in Civil Engineer from the University of Illinois – Chicago in 2005. He has been involved in a wide variety of structural design engineering including our award-winning pedestrian bridge over Lake Shore Drive in Chicago and improvements to mainline and crossover bridges for a $60 million Tri-State Tollway reconstruction project.

Ciorba Group was recently selected by the Illinois Department of Transportation to complete the Phase I engineering services for improvements to IL Route 171 in District One/Region One. The project limits are from 47th Street to 55th Street. The majority of the roadway is located on 20 bridges including crossings of the Des Plaines River and the Ship and Sanitary Canal. Ciorba's main services will consist of bridge inspections and preparation of Bridge Condition Reports for each structure, evaluation of the roadway geometry, accident analysis, drainage studies and hydraulic reports, and completing a Project Development Report.
