Civil Engineering Technician

Ciorba Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician with the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in topographical and construction surveys.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer with onsite construction inspections.
  • Completion of drafting and design tasks for roadways.
  • Preparing quantity calculations and project cost estimates.
  • Maintaining positive client and vendor relationships.
  • Other engineering related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years related experience.
  • Associates degree.
  • Solid knowledge of Micro Station.
  • Excellent organizational, computer and writing skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills/positive attitude and ability to work in a team atmosphere is required.

Senior Bridge Engineer

Ciorba Group is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer with the following responsibilities:

  • Perform preliminary and final design for steel and concrete highway and pedestrian bridges design, layout and detailing, including preparation of plans, calculations, and construction specifications.
  • Supervision of engineer and CADD work of other team member and coordination of project activities with other disciplines.
  • Complete projects and tasks meeting quality standards, budget and program expectations through proactive project monitoring and control mechanisms are developed and administered.
  • Coordination of bridge inspections and report preparation.
  • Coordination with client on projects and tasks and development of good working relationships with technical staff on the client side.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 5-10 years of bridge and structural design experience
  • Illinois SE and PE
  • Good communication, technical writing and presentation skills
  • Experience on Illinois DOT and Tollway structural project and understanding of AASHTO bridge design Standards
  • Finite Element Modeling and complex structural design a plus

Civil/Stormwater Engineer

Ciorba Group is seeking a Civil/Stormwater Engineer with 0-2 years of experience in stormwater/drainage design and exposure to transportation projects such as roadway design. Position calls for a recent college graduate with an interest in public works who will report to our Water Resources Manager. Experience and/or education should include hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of storm sewer and/or surface flows, use of Microstation or AutoCad, and design plan preparation. Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering is required. Responsibilities will include stormwater system analysis and design for municipal and roadway projects. Flood reduction, erosion control, water quality protection, and project optimization will also be key components of this position’s typical project activities. The person in this position will work as part of a team under the supervision of licensed professional engineers.

Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer

Ciorba Group is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with 8-10 years of experience in the analysis and design of water distribution and sanitary collection systems. Position calls for a leader to assist in expanding our water/wastewater client base and will report directly to our Municipal Services Manager. Definite opportunity for advancement in a results oriented firm. Experience should include water and sewer demand studies, water distribution modeling, sanitary sewer capacity analysis, pump station analysis, and design plan preparation of all of the above. Experience with water and sewer rate studies as well as stormwater management is a plus. Besides technical experience, candidate should have the ability to assist in marketing clients and proposal preparation. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an Illinois professional engineer license is required.
